POLEPOWER was developed by Energy Innovations Pty. Ltd., a privately owned company based in Cairns, Queensland Australia. Energy Innovations specialises in the research, development and commercialisation of energy related products and services, with a particular focus on servicing the utility and commercial markets.

MR GRANT BEHRENDORFF BTech, TMIEAust
Grant is a senior professional engineering technologist with a
broad background in the electricity industry in Australia. Grant specialises in renewable energy systems and energy efficiency. Grant has a Bachelor of
Technology (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from University of Southern Queensland and a current trade qualification as an electrical fitter/mechanic.
Grant's management and engineering expertise has been recognised through a variety of awards including:
- Engineers Australia 2007 National Engineering Technologist of the Year
- Engineers Australia 2006 National Engineering Excellence Award - Bushlight Project (Project Manger)
- Engineers Australia 2001 Engineering Excellence Award (Qld Div) - Development of Stationpower ® RAPS system (Project Manager)
Grant is Chair of the Alice Springs Solar Cities Consortium and is regularly called upon to present on the subject of renewable energy generation and energy efficiency design to conferences, industry groups and government.
Grant is a Director of Energy Innovations Pty Ltd, a Director of Evolve Energy Pty Ltd and a non-executive Director of CAT Projects, an Alice Springs-based engineering consultancy.
MR DAVID SMYTH BEng Elect (Hons), GCertMgt, RPEQ, MIEAust
David is a senior professional
engineer with extensive utility experience in the areas of electricity generation and distribution. David also has specialist knowledge in renewable energy systems and
energy efficiency design. David has a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from James Cook University, a Graduate Certificate in Management
from Deakin University, and a current trade qualification as an electrical fitter / mechanic / linesman.
David was Chair of Engineers Australia for the Cairns Region in 2006.
Prior to establishing Evolve Energy, David held senior engineering and management positions with Ergon Energy including the role of Principal Engineer Generation for a period of 7 years. During this time David initiated and delivered many of Ergon Energy's renewable energy strategies related to remote generation and distribution assets.
David is a Director of Evolve Energy Pty Ltd and Director of Energy Innovations Pty Ltd.
QUEENSLAND BIG IDEA AWARD
POLEPOWER was a winner at the inaugural Queensland Big Ideas program which was announced at Queensland Parliament House on Tuesday 19 April 2011. The Queensland Big Ideas program is an initiative of the Queensland Government and the Australian Industry Group to provide small to medium sized Queensland businesses with an opportunity to make their big ideas a reality through innovation and R & D. This program is delivered under the Towards Q2: Tomorrow's Queensland initiative that charts the course for a strong, green, smart, healthy and fair Queensland. ECO INNOVATION AWARD
POLEPOWER
was awarded the Eco Innovation Award at the inaugural Tropical Innovation Awards as announced at the Cairns
Convention Centre on Friday 5 November 2010. The aim of the Tropical Innovation Awards is to recognise,
reward and support innovation and invention across the Far North Queensland region to support economic
diversification and sustainability. Entrants in the highly contested Eco Innovation category had to
demonstrate a high level of innovation as well as positive environmental benefit and long-term sustainable advantage.
